Denise Brown, sister of the late Nicole Brown Simpson and lifelong activist against domestic violence, is joining us here at Bibliobar to discuss her forthcoming memoir that details her experiences fighting for DV awareness as well as all she went through with the murder of her sister and the following trial during which her abuser, OJ Simpson, was acquitted. Megan Valdez, CEO of Hope’s Door New Beginning Center, will be leading the conversation with Denise and providing tons of great resources on advocacy against domestic violence. Hope’s Door New Beginning Center is the comprehensive domestic violence service provider serving Collin County and Northeast Dallas County. With more than 20 years of experience in victim services, Megan has worked across shelter, outreach, program leadership, and organizational strategy.
