The Cox Building Playhouse is located on the bottom floor of the Plano Independent School District’s Cox Building. The Cox Building was originally constructed as a high school in 1938 as part of the Works Progress Administration Project. Eventually the school relocated due to population growth. In 2005, the Cox Building was renovated and now serves as a Plano Independent School District office and home to the Cox Building Playhouse.
